Hampden District Medical Society
Serving Physicians of Hampden County, Massachusetts
The Hampden District Medical Society supports physicians through professional connection, continuing education, and advocacy for high-quality medical care in our community.
We provide opportunities for physicians across Hampden County to connect, collaborate, and build lasting professional relationships across specialties and practice settings.
The Society sponsors educational programs, guest lectures, and discussions designed to help physicians remain current with medical knowledge, evolving standards of care, and changes in the healthcare environment.
Through our affiliation with the Massachusetts Medical Society we participate in statewide efforts to improve healthcare policy, support physician well-being, and promote the highest standards of patient care.
County medical societies play an important role in maintaining the strength of organized medicine by fostering mentorship, supporting young physicians, and providing a forum for thoughtful discussion of issues affecting the profession.
We invite all physicians in Hampden County to participate in Society activities and help strengthen the voice of medicine in our region.
Letter from Hampden District President
ACTIVELY RECRUITING NEW DELEGATES
for the 2 yearly meetings of the Massachusetts Medical Society
(1 meeting is virtual only)
Dear Colleagues,
Why serve?
Western Mass is not Boston. We want to ensure that the unique interests of our beautiful, but under served area are represented. You can be a part of that effort.
Could your voice help ensure that our interests are heard?
- As a delegate, you will meet colleagues from all over the state.
- As a delegate, you will have opportunities to influence colleagues, as well as state and federal legislatures.
- As a delegate, you protect public health and the interests of medical practitioners and patients. Hampden County is a special place, but does have smaller numbers of physicians than the Eastern part of the state.
In most districts, members of the Massachusetts Medical Society (MMS) compete for the privilege of representing their district's interest. By contrast, we are actively recruiting members willing to serve as delegates.
Similarly, MMS generally mandates term limits for those serving on district executive committees or on the Board of Trustees. Our hope is to welcome new participants. We, by contrast, eagerly await new participants with fresh ideas.
Please consider joining a great group of fellow physicians-delegates working to enhance health care for the benefit of patients and fellow physicians.
Sincerely,
Vicki Noble, MD
Hampden District President
